State Alzheimer's Research Support Center (StARS) Lived Experience Panels Interest Form |
In collaboration with the State of Georgia, The State Alzheimer's Research Support (StARS) Center is forming five Lived Experience Panels throughout various geographic regions of Georgia. These panels are made up of a diverse group of persons living with dementia and caregivers who will convene quarterly to inform their state's efforts to improve dementia care services. By sharing their lived experience, panel members bring invaluable information and provide real-world examples to their state's dementia care services.
Each of the five Lived Experience Panels will consist of:
- People living with mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia
- Current or former dementia care partners / caregivers (an unpaid family member or friend who supports someone living with dementia)
Commitment
A one-year commitment is requested. Participation includes:
- Four 60–90-minute virtual (Zoom) meetings, with the possibility of one in-person meeting
- Review material before and after meetings when requested
- Compensation of up to $400 paid at the end of the full one-year term for participation
- After the one-year commitment has ended, there is possibility for renewal
